2010 Zone Championship

NBEA is involved in a new initiative in 2010 "Zone Championships".

Zone 6-7-8 Miramichi/Caraquet and Campbelleton

This area was chosen because

• lack of NBEA sanctioned General Performance competitions
• to increase the awareness of the NBEA
• to increase membership
• an opportunity to offer educational sessions in both Western and English rider level program
• "Judges Point of View" sessions have been offered to educate riders, and parents
• Introduce suggested readings i.e. Equine Canada Rule Book for General Performance Competitions

The NBEA encourages nationally and provincially sanctioned competitions to offer structure and guidelines that are in keeping with national and international athlete and sport development. The use of nationally accredited rules and procedures allows us, as judges, officials, athletes, parents and coaches, to benefit from knowledge in safe practices and athlete flourishing that years of national and international competing has allowed equestrian sport to develop.

It is hoped that this Zone final will be a yearly event as it is an excellent means by which to develop our athletes and our sport.  It is hoped that an additional Zone final will happen in 2011 for zone 4-5 Saint John and Moncton.  If these zone finals can develop riders and produce good sport the NBEA would like to go one step further and offer a "Provincial Championship" that would be once a year at the end of the summer and it would be our goal that riders from ever zone would be in attendance and they would be there because they qualified from their zone.
